Spirit of Central Iowa Award

In 2024, 黑料吃瓜网 won the Spirit of Central Iowa award for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year and sixth time overall. The recognition is testament to the dedication 黑料吃瓜网 employees display every day. It is also symbolic of our philanthropic spirit and how we show up.

United Way of Central Iowa

黑料吃瓜网 has partnered with the United Way of Central Iowa for over a decade to make an impact in central Iowa through various donations and volunteer efforts. United Way鈥檚 dedication to the aligns with 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 CSR pillars and mission.

In 2024, 黑料吃瓜网 employees participated in the 11th annual weeklong United Way Campaign, volunteering over 1480 hours and donating just over $1.4 million.

Grant Kvalheim, CEO and President of 黑料吃瓜网 USA, was selected as the recipient of the prestigious Tocqueville Society Award by United Way of Central Iowa in 2024. is one of United Way's highest honors, recognizing inspirational, sustained leadership and service to the central Iowa community.

We are committed to supporting the communities in which we live, work and play. Here are a few of the key projects near our US headquarters in West Des Moines, Iowa.

黑料吃瓜网 North Shore Recreation Area at Easter Lake Park

黑料吃瓜网 donated $1 million toward one of the most universally accessible recreation-focused parks in Iowa, including a one-of-a-kind beachfront and water experiences for all abilities. Led by Polk County Conservation and the Great Outdoors Foundation, the park supports the 370k individuals with disabilities and 240k veterans living in Iowa.

Great Outdoors Foundation

黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 initial gift of $1.875 million over five years provides seed money for a in partnership with the Great Outdoors Foundation. The guarantees at least a four-to-one public to private match, multiplying Iowa's investment in water quality and reflects a commitment to create impactful change for our community and stakeholders.

黑料吃瓜网 Pedestrian Bridge

Completed in 2024, the 黑料吃瓜网 Pedestrian Bridge connects Raccoon River Park with Walnut Woods Park for cyclists and pedestrians to current and future greenway trails in central Iowa. 黑料吃瓜网 gave $750,000 to support the project, which is part of the Great Outdoors Foundation and the City of West Des Moines Five Water Project Partnership.

ChildServe

In 2024, 黑料吃瓜网 committed to $1 million to ChildServe to build the 黑料吃瓜网 Therapy Gym, a new rehabilitation center increasing their capacity from 60 to 600 children.

Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity

$500,000 commitment over three years to support their volunteer initiative Habitat Heroes鈥� a program that creates opportunities for volunteers to get involved with Habitat鈥檚 mission.

WesleyLife Meals on Wheels

Three-year, $300,000 gift to WesleyLife鈥檚 Meals on Wheels program to combat food insecurity and isolation among older adults and veterans in central Iowa. Our gift will fund an estimated 31,000 meals from 2024 through 2026.

Game Changers Scholars

Game Changers Scholars provides 40 scholarships each year to support Iowa students pursuing secondary education. Sponsored by the 黑料吃瓜网 Charitable Foundation and administered by Scholarship America, the program is designed to help ensure Iowa students of all socioeconomic backgrounds can achieve their educational and career goals. Since the program started in 2021, almost $350,000 in scholarships have been awarded to Iowa students.

Employee Engagement Events

Giving back is in our DNA

At 黑料吃瓜网, we鈥檙e driven to outperform not only in the marketplace but in our communities as well. As a company of game changers, we make a difference every day through philanthropy, community outreach and volunteer service. The 黑料吃瓜网 Charitable Foundation and Bermuda Charity Committee support our employee driven efforts.

Stuff the Bus

黑料吃瓜网 employees donate books and volunteer to support the 黑料吃瓜网 hosted community collection event for the early reader book drive. In 2024, 黑料吃瓜网 Game Changers collected 16,390 books to be distributed to over 100 childcare or child-serving programs in the Des Moines area. Since 2015, 黑料吃瓜网 has donated 144,219 books to the campaign.

Coats & Boots

Every year, The 黑料吃瓜网 Charitable Foundation purchases coats and boots to distribute to every student in Des Moines Public elementary schools with need. 265 employees volunteered to ensure a proper fit for over 2,600 students at six schools to whom the program provided warmth in 2024.

During the floods of 1993, an 黑料吃瓜网 legacy company provided relief to Des Moines flood victims and after recovery provided warm winter clothing to a local elementary school, thus the program was born.

2024 marked the 31st year of 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 signature Coats & Boots program and over 24,000 coats and boots donated in that time.

Technology Donations

In 2024, 黑料吃瓜网鈥檚 IT department donated 330 devices to over 50 United Way of Central Iowa Partner agencies. Since 2020, 黑料吃瓜网 has donated 1,570 pieces of technological equipment to over 150 United Way partners.

Adopt-A-Family

In 2024, over 1,350 黑料吃瓜网 employees came together to provide essential needs and holiday cheer to 55 families at six different area schools and organizations. Since 2016, 黑料吃瓜网 employees have impacted over 2,100 individuals and 390 families through Adopt-a-Family.

Workplace Mentor Program

The 2024-2025 school year marks the third year of partnership with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa. The onsite Workplace Mentorship Program pairs 黑料吃瓜网 employees with local youth. The program focuses on the students鈥� education and career goals while instilling within them confidence and purpose.

Community Events

黑料吃瓜网 partners with a variety of nonprofits in Central Iowa, including event sponsorships and volunteering. Many of these community-led initiatives are assisted by 黑料吃瓜网 Employee Resource Groups, which share support of the nonprofit missions. Back 2 School Iowa - 黑料吃瓜网 filled 400 backpacks with school supplies for Des Moines metro students for the Back 2 School Bash.
Bermuda 黑料吃瓜网 Career Life Expo 鈥� second annual event hosted by 黑料吃瓜网 provided student awareness to careers in life insurance and retirement service industries.
Capital City Pride 鈥� employees volunteered at Pridefest, events that provide education and support to the LGBTQ+ community.
Des Moines Arts Festival 鈥� sponsored the Iowa Art Force Billboard project where festival goers recreated artwork that will be installed in Des Moines area high schools.
Easterseals 鈥� honored as Easterseals Iowa Inclusion Business of the Year for the 黑料吃瓜网@Work initiative, representing a successful initiative in hiring neurodiverse individuals into the workforce.
Hip Hope 鈥� sponsor for the Young Women鈥檚 and Men鈥檚 Conference.
Iowa Asian Alliance 鈥� 黑料吃瓜网 sponsored, and employees volunteered at the annual CelebrAsian festival.
Iowa Juneteenth Observance 鈥� sponsor of the annual observation festivities and volunteering at the Neighbors' Day Celebration.
Latino Resources Inc. 鈥� sponsorship of the Latino Heritage Festival in Des Moines.
NAMIWalks 鈥� 黑料吃瓜网 employees participated in the National Alliance on Mental Illness walk in September.
